1. FATHER SPEAKS AT DAUGTHER'S GRADUATION
Grand Rapids pastor music artist Marvin Sapp was the guest speaker this week at his daughter Mikaela's 8th grade graduation from Grand Rapids' Northpointe Christian School. His text was 1Tim. 4:12. ("Dont let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.")
Mikaela who earlier this year published a book of her journals, will enter NorthPoint Christian High School this fall.
"I'm not ready for my little girl to grow up," Marvin said.

2. POINT OF GRACE-ER ON THE DIAMOND.
Point of Grace singer Denise Jones is playing in a Celebrity Softball Challenge this Saturday in Nashville. The fundraiser for Nashville's City of Hope charity is part of the CMA (Country Music Association) festival this week.

3. ISRAEL IN SOUTH AFRICA
Israel Houghton has been performing this week in the nation of South Africa, with concerts in CapeTown, Durban and Johannesburg. Several years ago, Houghton's live CD recorded in South Africa won a Grammy Award.

4. MERCYME SPORTS FANS
MercyMe lead singer Bart Millard and his son attended Tuesday's NBA finals tournament game between the Dallas Marvericks and the Miami Heat. Dallas won the game 86-83, much to the Millard's delight.

Third Day lead singer Mac Powell has been sporting the long hair and beard look for most of the past year He recently posted a question to the band's Facebook fans..

The Switchfoot guys host their 7th annual "Bro-Am" event Sat. June 18. There's a surf contest, free concert, some clips from Switchfoot's upcoming album "Vice Verses" at special onsite "listening stations", and an after party featuring music from Fiction Family the duo of Jon Foreman and Sean Watkins (Nickel Creek)

7. MARK SHULTZ RETURNS
Mark Schultz flew out of Paris, France Monday to the U.S. to complete a 9-month on and off trip to Europe. He's doing summer concerts and of course, will be coming to Zeeland, Mich. on Sept. 11 for a special "Letters From War" concert, marking the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

8. CASTING CROWNS ON THE MEND
Casting Crowns lead guitarist Hector Cervantes is recovering from knee surgery. Meanwhile, violinist Melodee DeVevo had elbow and wrist surgeries within a month of eachother. She had to completely give up playing violin for several weeks. She is now doing physical therapy exercise and is wearing static splints. She hopes to be able to play her first concert in some time this weekend.
Also this week, lead singer Mark Hall had dental surgery!

9. OWL CITY – IT'S A SMALL WORLD!
Owl City (aka Adam Young) has his new CD "All things bright and beautiful" ready for release next Tuesday. He's also beginning a tour with Mat Kearney next week, and was a recent guest with Wally on Total Axxess, heard weekday evenings on JQ-99. Adam tweeted this week, "The first record I ever bought was "Nu Thang" by DC Talk."
Kevin Max, former DC Talker, had this reaction: "That brings me joy mixed with a bit of anxiety."
